From Our Board
BITS Team Gets an A!

We want to thank our hard-working Birds in the Schools (BITS) (formerly Audubon in the Schools) team for providing impactful in-classroom and outdoor educational programs through this past school year.
From January through June 2025 this group engaged with 975 students, visited 8 schools, and gave 28 presentations during 40 classroom hours! They provided both the classroom drawing program, Feathers, and our outdoor program, Beginning Birding. The drawing program incorporated our bird specimens and feathers, using them as inspiration for student drawings. The Beginning Birding classes used our sets of binoculars and strategically placed bird cut-outs to help students learn the binocular skills needed for finding and identifying birds.
