March is normally a slow month for birding. With the warm summer-like weather during the first part of the month, this was especially true this year. In that kind of weather, everyone's thoughts turned to Neotropical migrants, but, for the most part, they had not yet arrived because the insects, their food source, were not yet plentiful.
